Description:The General Social Services (GSS) is widely regarded as the single best source of data on societal trends. The GSS contains a standard 'core' of demographic, behavioral, and attitudinal questions, plus topics of special interest.
Population: The survey was administered annually to 1,500 Americans from 1972-1993. From 1994 on administered every other year with a target sample of 1,500.
Periodicity: Data available from 1972-2016 as a data file.
