Description: Monitoring the Future (MTF) is an ongoing study of the behaviors, attitudes, and values of American secondary school students, college students, and young adults.

Population: Nationwide sample of 50,000 eighth, tenth, and twelfth graders are surveyed.

Periodicity: Survey administered annually starting in 1975. Data available through 2018 collection period.
